We scope the work and set the price up front, so our incentives line up with yours — you get cost certainty and can ask as much as you need within scope, and we drive efficiencies in how we work rather than billing more hours.
The founder
Founder & Principal Lawyer
Amanda founded Align Counsel with knowledge from both the legal and the business side of a deal. As a corporate lawyer at a leading Bay Street firm, she worked on complex financings and capital markets transactions, from large infrastructure financings to public offerings and private placements. She also worked in investment banking, covering banks, asset managers, and financial technology companies, and as a pro bono consultant she helped early-stage startups work through strategy and structure.
She holds a JD from Western University and an HBA from the Ivey Business School, graduating with distinction from both.
Amanda founded Align Counsel on a simple conviction: the quality of legal advice you would get from a Bay Street firm should be available to the businesses that need it most, not only the ones that can afford Bay Street rates. Founders and growing companies deserve that same calibre of counsel, in plain language, at a fixed and predictable cost, and without the barriers that make traditional legal services feel out of reach.
